EBONY
The colors of the jungle are scarlet and vivid blue
Hidden eyes that you can't see, can somehow follow you
Mighty cat of ebony with eyes that seem to glow
You're hidden 'neath the foliage, body crouched so low
The beauty that is hidden, 'neath a dense and darkened place
A world its own, it seems alone but somewhere there's a face
She hides inside the jungle, waiting for the night
Nearby there lies a panther that's hidden out of sight
She lingers in the tall grass, her eyes upon the stars
And listens to the trumpet of elephants afar
Her ears can hear the slightest sound, a frog as it hops by
Somewhere she feels a presence and hears a muffled sigh
Her friend has come to greet her, to visit for awhile
The panther that is dark as night she can easily beguile
Snuggled close, her mighty coat gives warmth throughout the night
To a beauty of the forest, the panther's eyes are light
